Ivan has two sisters. Their names are Ira and Vira. Ira is three and Vira is five. Ira and Vira are nice girls. Ivan likes his sisters and they like him. Ivan plays with Ira and Vira every day but sometimes¹  he doesn't want to play with them because he is twelve, and he wants to play with boys who are twelve too. He wants to play chess or football with them.

"Mother," Vira says², "Ivan doesn't want to play with us."

"Why don't you want to play with Ira and Vira?" ; mother asks³.

"I like to play with the girls and play every day. But sometimes I want to play with boys. And that is why I go to the yard," Ivan says. He begins to play with the girls. "Do you want to read our books with us, Ivan?"1 Ira asks.

"Do you want to draw animals with us?" Vira asks.

"I cannot draw animals well. But I can draw houses. Where are your pencils?" Ivan asks. "They are in the pencil-box," Ira says. Ivan takes a pencil and begins to draw a house.
